Pascal Drive, Medbourne, Milton Keynes, MK5 6LS
Sounds on site
Compared to other parks, the Medbourne Park is a very quiet location, except for when being used by locals with their dogs or just going for an occasional walk or sit down. It can become noisier when the community center sports pavilion uses the park for activities (usually for children and teenagers). So I may have to place the building away from the community center, but still close to the car park.

Sun Path
July Time (Summer Time)
End of December (Winter Time)
The problem is that the community centre can block some of the sun, so having my building elevated (on post) or beside the building or a bit further away, however I want my building to be near the access point A (which is referred to later on in the page), so that the clients or designers can exit out into the road easily. Also, the parking could also act as a parking for future clients.
The sun path diagram is very important for my design as I want the working offices and drawing space to have a lot of daylight (north light), so the lighting is good enough to see well what they draw, instead of direct sunlight which would be too bright. As this would overheat computer and will too bright. This concept is used by painters to get the best lighting (got this information from website: http://willkempartschool.com/art-studio-lighting-design/).
Winter (end of December) and summer (July) time does not show a drastic change of the amount of time their exposed to sunlight which is great as the sunlight will also be used to harness electricity.

Wind Direction and Temperature
From this data I can see that the dominant wind direction is coming from the north. During the months of maybe May to October and again from December to January. Since the house needs to be warm, I need to find a way to resist the wind (especially in summer). However, the problem is the sunlight is in the same direction.
Unless the wind could be harnessed to generate electricity… This means that the wind turbine that will be included on the design should face east or west, so that the blades will be in the north direction.

Other Climate Data
There is a lot of rainfall it seems consistently throughout the year. The roof needs to be taken into consideration, it must be sheltered (the garage and the recycling centre).

Access Points
Here are the access points A, B and C. Access A leads ‘Pascal Drive’ and as you come in there is a car park, access B is for walking pedestrians (though you can park at the road) and access C leads into Shenely Woods. I’ve tried to have the building near one of the access points, which is access point A so that the designers could have easy access to the car park and the garage could also be located near there.
History of Site
Here’s a map of the site in the 1970’s obviously compared to currently, there are no houses, just open land. This means that Medbourne’s houses are relatively new.
